Episode 13 "Steve McQueen: The King of Cool"

This week we brought back our friend Devin Pike, the Editor-in-Chief of Red Carpet Crash, to discuss the career and live of film legend Steve McQueen. This year is the 30th year after his death and his contribution to society still resonates strongly. As Nils says, “Every guy wanted to be him and every woman wanted to be with him.” You will understand, after you listen to this episode, how three guys (a film critic, a former studio exec and a private eye) can still be enamored by such an icon.

Among the topics were his relationship with director Sam Peckinpah, McQueen’s early life and many of his films including The Great Escape, The Sand Pebbles & Bullitt.

If you wanna hear three cool guys talk about the coolest of them all, you came to the right place!

Purse Party Supplier BUSTED!

Once touted as the largest supplier of counterfeit purse parties in the entire United States, Level 21 Inc. has seen their last days.  Dating back to 2005 our office, at the request of two luxury clients, began an investigation into the website that used to be located at level21inc.com.  From MySpace to Craigslist to suburban living rooms, Theresa Kaufman’s company Level 21 was known as THE SOURCE for wholesale replicas.  This elaborate operation began in an apartment in Minnesota and grew to become a warehouse in South Carolina.  Their counter intelligence was so good that it took a very good field specialist to infiltrate their location.

After the field investigation was done, we had realized that Kaufman and her boyfriend were, along with his father, purchasing land, homes, boats, cars, and God-knows-what-else.  The real skill isn’t in slaying the dragon; it is having the patience to wait for him to stick his head out of the cave.

Our civil actions had put them out of business a couple of years ago.  Working closely with a Special Agent at U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, we finally saw Kaufman plea guilty as well.  Below is the press release.

Mr. Holmes Goes to Washington

Many of you know I was traveling during a lot of May and June.  Along with attending a number of conferences, I also had a handful of speaking gigs.  The most notable event was a symposium put on by the Assistant Secretary of Homeland Security, Mr. John Morton.

It was an honor to get this personal invitation and to be included in the distinguished lineup that presented.  C-SPAN was there and covered the public sessions.

My talk was one of my most popular and was entitled “Jeans For Jihad” where I take the audience through cases and research conducted by my office that link the Lebanese mafia (a.k.a. terrorist funding networks) to the counterfeit trade in the United States.  It was well-received and, as a result, I was invited by the Office of the US Attorney General to speak at a summit being held in Los Angeles in September.  If you get a chance to see me give this talk, you may find it pretty enlightening.

I was very excited to receive this letter in the mail the other day in recognition of my participation and wanted to share it with you.
